The Milton Review Love & Sex "As flesh to mix with flesh" Submissions Open December 1. Fiction Poetry Non-Fiction Pettiness

For the Love & Sex Issue, we're looking for writing that fucks.

We don't mean writing that has fucking in it--we mean "fucks" in the famous "found under carnal knowledge" sense of public fornication charges. In the age of PornHub and RedTube, what desire remains forbidden? Transgressive? Scandalous? What love transcends our understanding of reality--biological, chemical, social, or spiritual?

Send us your stories about amoebas in love, your poems about queer angel sex, your essays about desire after capitalism.  Or just kvetch about the petty Tinder date who stuck you with a $200 check.  We're here for it.

NOTE: We're not interested in reading pornography or work that endorses pedophilia, misogyny, sexual abuse, or rape. Use your best judgment.

The Milton Review puts out two themed issues every year. We accept submissions of poetry, fiction, polemics (socially minded non-fiction), and pettiness, as well as visual art. We do not accept previously published work. We accept simultaneous submissions, but simply ask that you inform us if your work is published elsewhere.

The Milton Review does not tolerate any racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or any other forms of discrimination.

While we accept and welcome submissions from writers of any nationality, race, sexual orientation, or class, we prioritize submissions from BIPOC, LGBTQ, working class, and disabled authors, as well as writers from cultures and nations currently or formerly colonized by the British Empire. This includes Palestine and writers from the Palestinian diaspora.

We do not accept poetry, prose, or art created by AI programs.
